Xiaomi's Humanoid Robots Clocked a Full 8-Hour Shift — and Said Nothing About Output
On November 3, Xiaomi released a video of a full-size humanoid robot working an 8-hour, 5-minute shift sorting center-console side covers at its EV factory, with two charging breaks in between. Xiaomi says it can correct faults on its own, but disclosed no parts count, success rate, or human interventions.

- 01THE INTERN — In March 2026, an intern robot at the Beijing factory fitted self-tapping nuts for 3 hours at a 90.2% success rate.
- 02THE IMPROVEMENT — In July, the success rate rose to 98%, with two harder stations added.
- 03THE SHIFT — On November 3, 2026, an 8-hour, 5-minute sorting video was released.
WHAT HAPPENEDWhat Happened
On November 3, Xiaomi released a video of a full-size humanoid robot working an 8-hour, 5-minute shift at a center-console side-cover sorting station in its auto factory. The video runs at 100x speed, with two charging breaks, after 3 hours 2 minutes and 6 hours 3 minutes of cumulative work.
The task was picking parts from a bin, carrying them, and placing them on racks in sequence. Xiaomi says the robot covers the station's full-day production needs, can detect and correct faults on its own, and links with the line's control system. At 1 minute 37 seconds, a second humanoid upper body on a wheeled base joins in to handle dropped parts.
This is the third public step this year. In March, an intern robot at the Beijing factory fitted self-tapping nuts for 3 hours at a 90.2% success rate, meeting a 76-second cycle time. In July, the success rate rose to 98%, with two harder stations added.
WHAT 8 HOURS MEANSWhat 8 Hours Is Worth
Eight hours and five minutes is cumulative working time, not eight continuous hours. The charging time was not disclosed, and the video is a 100x-speed compression of under five minutes.
No third party was present to verify it. The 8-hour figure comes from Xiaomi's own timing and editing. The endurance is real; what it is worth needs more numbers.
THE MISSING NUMBERSThe Missing Numbers
Parts count, success rate, and human interventions were all undisclosed. How many side covers were sorted in 8 hours, at what success rate, and with how many interventions — the questions that decide throughput have no answers.
Electrek put it directly: Xiaomi offered no number that can be independently checked, so the degree of autonomy cannot be verified either.
OPEN MODEL, SAME DAYAn Open Model Arrived the Same Day
Xiaomi also open-sourced the Xiaomi-Robotics-1 model, pre-trained on 100,000 hours of real robot data and already tested in staff apartments, completing more than 50 cross-room task chains in 30 minutes.
The video is about the factory; the model is about general capability. Xiaomi is running its embodied-AI line on both the industrial floor and the open-source ecosystem at once.
THE SHIFTWhat Changed
SIGNAL JUDGMENT — ANALYSISThe Shift Is Done. The Output Is Not
Tokenta Signal's judgment: this video proves endurance, not throughput. An 8-hour shift can be clocked in; a parts count was not reported, and that says the last mile of humanoids entering factories is still a numbers game.

Electrek reported on November 4 that Xiaomi released a video on November 3 showing a full-size humanoid robot working an 8-hour, 5-minute shift at a sorting station in its auto factory, but disclosed no parts count, success rate, or human interventions.
